Welcome to BSA Troop 235 website.

Interested in joining our Troop?

Ages:  Boy Scouts is for all boys ages 11-17 (Grades 5-12).

Meetings:  Troop 235 meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 in the new Fellowship Building at Red Hill Lutheran Church, located at 13200 Red Hill Avenue, Tustin, CA 92780.

You are always welcome to visit our Troop meetings and learn about our many activities. We are very active and camp almost every month.  You can reach our membership chair at membership@troop235.com and we can schedule a visit and let you know what activities are planned for upcoming meetings.

For Current Members:  If you wish to have an Announcement or Event placed on the Website/EBlast or you need to send a Troop wide E-mail, please email the Webmaster at webmaster@troop235.com.

Troop 235 Program Update 4/25/24

Dear Troop Families,

 

  • Camporee – April 26-28, 2024

    • Camporee is April 26-28, 2024.  Camporee is a local event for our Canyons District that is filled with camping and competitions with other Troops in our district.  It is a time to show our scout spirit and demonstrate our scout skills.

    • Arrival at RHL at 5:15 in full Class A.  If you are not dressed in full Class A, with correct uniform, you will be asked to return home to acquire the required portions of your uniform.  Parents will then be responsible for dropping their Scout off at Camporee.

    • OA Members bring your sash for OA Callout.

    • Please ensure that you arrive with your completed duty roster for Camporee.

    • We have not received our assignments for volunteers for our booth.  

 

  • Service Project: Pack 235 – Saturday, April 20, 2024

    • Thank you to Gavin S., Logan C., Grant C., Joaquin C., Carlos S., Ethan S., Aidan S., Jeffrey S., Thomas S., and Travis B. for coming out and helping with Pack 235’s Skill Day this past weekend.

    • These Scouts gave more than two hours of their time to help train and supervise cub scouts of Pack 235 in knot tying, camp set up, obstacle courses, first aid and orienteering.

 

  • Earth Day Conservation Project- Coastkeeper

    • Thank you to all the Scouts (and adults) that volunteered this past Saturday at the Coastkeeper cleanup.

    • Awesome job from Kellen M. for arranging this service opportunity for the Scouts.

 

  • Palomar Observatory Campout – May 17-19th

    • Come join the Troop for a weekend of Camping, Hiking, Tour of Observatory, and Obtaining the Astronomy Merit Badge.

    • Parents were are looking for anyone that is willing to come with a telescope and assistance in operating the telescope.

    • Sign ups are here.

    • We are looking for someone to tow the trailer, and an adult grubmaster.

Troop 235 Program Update 4/18/24

Dear Troop Families,

 

  • Service Project: Pack 235 – Saturday, April 20, 2024, 3:00-5:00 p.m.

    • Come and volunteer teaching skills to Cub Scouts of Pack 235.

    • There will be five stations requesting help: Knot Tying, Compass, First Aid, Obstacle Course and Camp Assembly.

    • Sign Up on Troop Website, including times that you are available.

    • Location: Veteran’s Sports Park, 1645 Valencia Ave, Tustin, CA 92782 

    • We will be meeting on the Main Lawn.

    • Class A dress.

 

  • Rank Advancement Opportunity: Swimming Requirements – Sunday, April 21, 2024, 2:00 p.m.

    • Scout’s who need rank advancement requirements (Second Class, First Class) that require a swimming pool are invited to the Stewart Residence on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

    • Sign up on Troop website to ensure numbers.

    • Location: Stewart Residence, 2516 Platt Place, Tustin, CA 92782.  Gate Code #06420.  Please do not park in the cul de sac, it is a fire lane.

    • Bring: Swimming gear, towel, water.

    • Review the requirements for Aquatics requirements in advance and be prepared to explain them.

    • As soon as we have our scheduled times, we will need parent volunteers to monitor the station that we are running.

    • All Patrols should be working on patrol flags, yells and coordinating to ensure consistency of Class A and Class B for Camporee.

 

  • Earth Day Conservation Project- Coastkeeper

    • April 20th from 9-11 am. Scouts must fill out this Google Form so the organization has parental authorization (waiver). In addition, please also sign up on the troop website so we know who is attending. They suggest to bring:

    • Rain/rubber boots (if you have any) or closed-toe shoes. They have about 50 pairs of various size boots that can be used.
    • Reusable Water Bottle
    • Sun protection such as sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses
    • Comfortable clothing

Troop 235 Program Update 4/4/2024

Dear Troop Families,

 

● Annual Scout Induction
On April 9, 2024, the Troop will be holding its Induction for new Scouts and Scouts that have not been previously participated in an induction ceremony.
Ceremony will begin in the Sanctuary immediately following parent meeting.
Following induction, the Tree Lot Managers will review the Tree Lot dates, expectations and timing in the CLC.
Scouts need to be on time to line up and prepare for the ceremony.  WEAR full Class A.

Sign ups will close by April 9th2024 to ensure that we do not have to pay late fees for sign-ups.  Please sign up here.

Reminder that parent meeting is next Scout meeting, April 9th.  Please attend to receive troop updates, particularly about upcoming campouts and Summer Camp.

Troop 235 Program Update 3/21/2024

Dear Troop families,

The Canyons Camporee is scheduled for Friday April 26- Sunday April 28. 

Theme: Ready Player Scout

A full weekend of competition, games, fun and special awards.


All scouts are expected to attend this campout and represent Troop 235 at this OCBSA/Canyons
District event. We are looking to a full roster of scouts to enjoy this annual campout.


Overview:
Camporee is a local event for our Canyons District that is filled with camping and competitions with
other Troops in our district.  It is a time to show our scout spirit and demonstrate our scout skills.
Come ready to have fun and to represent Troop 235 well in your patrol and troop competitions!

Please RSVP and fill out all appropriate forms -- adults and campers MUST have completed Code of Conduct and BSA Medical

Forms A & B (Most of you may have already completed one for Back to Troop – please print another set for
THIS campout out). We cannot allow anyone to leave Red Hill Lutheran with the troop UNLESS
scouts/adults have checked in with their forms with Ms. Cardenas.
